As you can probably see, my blog now has a beautiful new design. It was about time, don't you think?
Many thanks go to Mia, this is practically all her work :D
So tell me what you think, do you like the new design? Is there something you can't read/see?
In other regards, nothing has changed really.... Still a lot to do, still not enough time.
But there is some progress on my stitching:
The picture is not up-to-date though, I'm already a little further.
Actually I still don't have much to tell you... although there is one recommendation for my German readers: If you have a Lidl near you, you should check out the ice-cream section, because they have these two super-delicious flavours:
Bananalicious is so... bananalicious :D And it has walnuts (meh) and chocolate bits (yay!) in it. YUMMY!
Strawberry cheesecake even has some bits of biscuit dough in it <3
Oh, and last weekend there was a rather spontaneous (as in start planning it just a few days before) Lolita meet-up. I don't have all the pictures yet, so I'll show you some later ^^
The driving lessons are going so-so. The last two were not that bad, but after all the ones before I was crying, feeling like a total failure. Today's lessons gave me hope, though. At least parking doesn't seem to be that much of a problem for me. Some girls chimed in when I told you I was going to make my driver's license, so tell me: How are your lessons going? ^^
And now I wish you all a good night, I have to go to bed soon.

Easter's over...
...and I found some good news :D
I admit, that was after easter, but still ^^
This year easter came as quite the surprise. Suddenly it was just... there... So as a spontaneous gift I made some apple-marmelade for my parents which is now famous as the "floating marmelade" because I stored it upside down and now it sticks to the top of the glass XD And when my parents visited us on Sunday, I made a cake. And it was the first time, that I was 100% happy with a cake I made. Don't get me wrong, I made a looot of cakes already, but I always find something that I don't like about it. But this time I was so happy that I had to take a picture ^^ So here it is, my perfect Strawberry-advocaat-cake:
My parents gave us two private lessons with our dancing instructor as a present for easter, by the way ^^ Such a great idea *_____*
And now for the good news: Do you remember how I told you about the job interview at the dancing school that I really wanted to be working at? Well, I haven't heard anything from them yet. You may guess: That's not the good news :D
About a week later I had another job interview in Radebeul near Dresden. And it turned out, that this is just the perfect dancing school for me! The conditions for the apprenticeship are fantastic, the owner of the school is super-nice and the I think we got along great.
And now he's contacted me about a "Schnupperwoche" (a week at the dancing school to check out how we work together) and afterwards we'll conclude the indenture ^^ (probably. I'm afraid to get too excited now and then be disappointed if it doesn't happen. But he was pretty clear about it in his mail, so... yaaaay probably :D)

Only one more week ...
...and then it's Christmas! Are you prepared? All the presents ready?
I'm happy to say that I have all the presents for my beloved ones and now I can start wrapping them *___* I love wrapping presents and making name tags for them <3
One is already done, the one for the Secret Santa of our dancing club:
That wrapping paper is so great! But I already used it last year, so all the other presents will look different ^^
For my birthday last week I also gave myself a treat and ordered a necklace at a Dawanda-shop that arrived a few days ago. It's wonderful, especially since it depicts one of my favourite things: Dancing!
But it's not the only necklace that I forgot to show you! Sophie gave the Gang early Christmas presents! Everyone got a necklace with the names of the other ones and a picture of a - have a guess!
A Manatee :D Such a great and cute idea, thank you so much!
And yesterday I had a belated birthday party with some friends and even though it was pretty unorganised it was really fun and I'm glad so many people came. As I had "ordered" (;D) I got a fantaaaastic cake from Sophie, she's just the master of bakery. She made a strawberry and coconut flavoured cake, can you think of anything better??? I obviously can't :D
Luckily we didn't finish it at the party so that I could still enjoy some today *yummy* ^^
And now: Let's get wrapping presents! ^^

Light the first candle!
There's no denying it anymore: Christmas is approaching and this becomes especially evident today because it's time to light the first candle on the Advent wreath. Though we don't really have a wreath, we just have a candle stand that I decorated:
I've also already decorated parts of our flat, but I'm not yet done with it.
And what would the Christmas season be without christmas biscuits?
I was already busy in the kitchen and made some ^^ Have a look:
And last year my parents gave us the coolest christmas cookie jar ever:
Isn't it cute? I love that fat little laddie :D The biscuits inside are cherry biscuits. I had hoped they would turn out red but they became more rose (and a little brown on the sides -.-)
I can't wait to eat some of them later (while drinking hot cocoa and watching the world championship in formation dancing ^^).
Yesterday I was at the Lolita meet-up here in Dresden but more on that in the next post ^^

Sushi-licious
The title already gives it away: I ate sushi today ^^ It was my first time, so I thought it would be worth mentioning but let's start at the beginning:
My boyfriend asked me to come with him to the custom office today because he had to pick up a package from China and I decided to take out my new Meta skirt:
I show you this now because I later had to change into other clothes when we came back from the office. It was the second time that I wore these shoes and my feet looked (and actually still look) like a swoolen mess afterwards ;________; I hate new shoes... but I also love them, if you know what I mean ;)
Anyways, since we wanted to go into the city, I changed into flip-flops and a long dress to cover my feet XD
And then we went shopping, BUT in my defense: It had to be done. I bought a present and a light jacket for Vronis and Andis wedding (in only two weeks! O.O Are you scared, my dear? ;) ) because my dress doesn't have sleeves and since it's October I just need something in case it's getting cooler.
And then my boyfriend did something über-sweet. When I was first looking for dresses I found one that I was totally in love with but I decided to buy it only a month or so before the wedding in case I might lose or gain some weight (I had hoped for losing, but oh well...nothing happened -.- Well at least I didn't gain any either XD) and when Icame back to buy it, it was gone ;___; And today it was there again O.o But I just didn't want to spend the money because I actually already have a dress and this month's going to be expensive. But Stefan really liked how I looked in it and knew that I love it and so he bought it for me and said that now I can decide which dress I want to wear ^^ It turns out I actually can't, because we haven't yet found a matching tie for it while we have one for the other dress, but both dresses are beautiful and I'm sure I'll find an occasion to wear the other one, so I'm fine with that ^^ Enough with the talking, that's the dress:
The picture really doesn't do it justice, it's much more beautiful in reality. the colour is green-ish/teal-ish/blue-ish... hard to say, but incredibly beautiful (most of you probably know that I dig anything teal or turquoise XD)
Thank you so much, my darling :-*
Well, then I bought some new thread for my cross-stitching. After i had used up all of the old one it looked like this:
Maybe I'll continue with it today.
Well, and afterwards we ate my first sushi and I have to say, I wouldn't want to eat it everyday but it tastes quite interesting and good. And with sushi, soy-sauce actually tastes good XD
On our way home, we stopped at the bubble tea bar (as always XD) and already when we entered the ladies working there started smiling and greeted us incredibly friendly because they already know us pretty good XD We just completed our third (or even fourth?) bonus card and when she stamped it she said "So you can have one free tomorrow!" Damn, she knows me way too good XD
BTW, do you actually read everything I write here? I have the feeling these long posts could be intimidating XD

Sewing fail... or not?
I haven't blogged much lately, there's a lot going on in my head at the moment and I'm not always in the mood for it.
But I am always in the mood for applepie ^^ Luckily my boyfriend is little by little conquering the kitchen and made one and it was delicious!
Yummy yummy yum yum ^^ He'll definitely cook and bake more from now on! XD
As some of you may have already read, Mia, Sophie and I have started working on our Vampire Requiem fabric and as I said I want to make an underbust JSK. Well, it's almost done. In fact it has already been almost done several days ago but I was so angry with the thing and myself that I just put it away and didn't want to look at the damned thing. You may already tell: I messed it up. Kind of. When I put it on again today it didn't look that bad to me anymore. Have a look at it:
The two things that bother me most are the fact that I should've made the curves around the breasts smaller and the shirring panel bigger because it's a pain in the ass to get into it (getting out is even worse).
I've thought about undoing it and changing those parts but I don't have much of the plain blue fabric left and to be honest I just don't want to because it is the first lined thing I've ever sewn and everything turned out very well and tidy.
The straps are actually supposed to be crossed in the back but they didn't turn out long enough so I probably have to make it a neckholder. I'd rather lengthen them and stick to the former plan, maybe I can find a way to do that.
Another thing that bothers me is that the lace sticks out on one side of the "neckline":
I'll see if I can fix that.
So, what do you think of it? Wearable or total catastrophe?
And then my lovely boyfriend also got me a supercool gadget:
It's for drying nailpolish ^^ You apply it and then you push the banana button and the monkey blows it dry XD Isn't it the cutest thing ever? I am so in love with it <3

An outfit and shopping
A few days ago I met with Sophie in the city and this is what I wore. Nothing special but I thought I'd share it with you because I wore my new shoes, my new necklace and my new bag ^^
Bad photo is bad... or maybe I'm just ugly XD Look at my arm, it's monstrous O.o
Today the weather was so nice here in Dresden that we just had to leave the house ^^ And we wanted to get some things, so we (my boyfriend and me by the way <3) went shopping.
We bought quite a few things for our flat and some uninteresting stuff (and some nice new clothes for Stefan), so I just show you the things I find best:
Sweeeets <3 Some sherbert bonbons and Jelly Bellies *yummy*
The flip-flops perfectly match my blue summer dress (although now there is even less black in this outfit *gnnnn*) and now that summer is nearly over (although it feels like we never had summer here in Germany this year) they only cost 2€!
Then there's a cool striped sweater underneath the whole stuff (it's blue by the way, the photo looks quite purple-ish on my screen) and a matching nailpolish.
And finally a liptint. It's the Perfect Stay by Astor and it was recommended to me by Mimi because I really don't like the way conventional lipstick feels on your lips. I tried it out in the store and it really feels a lot better. In fact, you don't feel it at all XD I picked a shade that is very close to my natural lip colour because I mainly want to make my lips look even. In particular the sides of my upper lip are always so pale, they are almost blue :/ Now I just have to practice applying it because I was always bad at applying lipsticks and this one's even a little harder because it's like a felt tip but I think it'll work with some practise ^^
And furthermore, the Bodyline sale has finally arrived ^^ Sophie wants to order some things and asked if I want to have something, too, so I take this one in green:
I've had my eye on this for quite some time and even though I don't fit into the corset-thingy I thought it was about time to take a shot at it ^^
I hope you also enjoyed the good weather today! (that is, if the weather was good, where ever you are ^^)

Blue
No, I am not sad, but I have some blue things to show you ^^
On Friday, Mia and I helped Sophie paint her new flat and Mia brought my share of the Vampire Requiem fabric along. It's really beautiful and nice quality:
The only thing that bothers me a little is that it even says "Alice and the Pirates" above the gate. I'm actually okay with replicas, as long as they don't print the original designers label on it, so this is a little bummer :/ But still, the fabric is just too great to refuse using it XD
I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with it. I'd actually love to make an underbust JSK out of it but I don't have a pattern for it and don't know how to make one myself. I guess I'll have to do a little research. Any help from your side would be greatly appreciated ^^
And yesterday Sophie and her boyfriend moved and of course the gang was there to help ;) My arms and legs are still hurting from carrying things down the mass of stairs and going back up again. Luckily now she lives on ground floor XD And her new flat is sooo beautiful *__* I have to admit, I'm jealous XD
While we were sorting her clothes into her wardrobe, she found this pretty belt that she doesn't wear anymore, so she gave it to me:
It's actually a little tight on me but I hope with the right clothes it won't look as bad.
Today we met at Dresden's new and already second Bubble tea bar which Vroni, Stefan and I already tried out yesterday and I like it better than the first one, because you cannot only get tea there (which in most cases I don't like, except for those with yoghurt) but also flavoured milk with bubbles ^^ Sooo yummy!
And fun fact: I wore my blue floor length flower dress ^^
A while ago I found this tutorial and I have to say, I am really tempted. Maybe I'm going to try that out (or rather let Vroni try it out on my hair XD) once I finally have a consistent hair colour.
I am madly in love with anything black, but especially when it comes to my hair, I like colourful... colours... derp...

Strawberries and skirt-love
I recently thought that it was quite funny that my blog is called "Frills and Strawberries" and while I showed you some frills you've never seen any strawberries here, so now here they are:
Yummy ^^ (Wow, even in pictures like this you can see how messy our flat is at the moment XD)
And by the way, this is what happens when you forget to shut your washing machine:
Yesterday I finished the skirt I was going to make from the floral fabric and I'm quite happy with how it looks (though I just remembered that I'm not entirely done with it, I still have to add my label ^^). It was the first time that I made a shirring panel and it was easier than I thought, although when I was done and stretched it for the first time one of the elastics snapped back into the tunnel *ARGH* I had to open and redo this part again *sigh*
And I finally got to use one of the embroidery stitches of my sewing machine:
So all in all it looks like this:
Today Stefan and I went to do some shopping and I had to take it out right away:
While I was sewing it I began to be a little worried that it wouldn't fit into my wardrobe because of the colours but I think it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would when you combine it with black and gold accessories. I still have much of the fabric left so I'm probably going to make a bag and some bows as hair accessories.
At first I thought of making a ruffle at the bottom but I think it looks much more elegant like this.
So, how do you like it? ^^
