Week 10

This week I'm on time again, and here is this week's topic:

What I thought when I got my first real piece of Lolita

My first real piece of Lolita was actually something that I made myself, a skirt that I sewed from a red fabric with a nice white border embroidery. Looking back it isn't all that beautiful, quite plain and the way I coordinated it was... let's just say "meh", but it still made me feel like a real Lolita.
One of my first thoughts was: "Wow, skirts that sit at my waist really suit me" :D
And it also got me really excited to go to my first meet-up.
What were your first thoughts?

By the way, here's a picture of my Zelda embroidery. Not even a third is done XD But it's looking better and better, don't you think?

(Belated) Week 9

Okay, I'm not on time, I know. But I didn't really have a choice, I didn't have a good internet connection in Munich where I spent the last 5 days.
I attended a seminar on Dance4Fans/Videoclipdancing there, which was really exhausting, but also a lot of fun. I can't even tell you how bad my knees looked throughout all the days because we had several choreographies in which we had to get down and do stuff on the floor. And I don't think I've ever had muscles aching this much before! I couldn't even pick things up from the ground today and sitting down and getting up are like torture!
But I'm optimistic that this will go away soon ^^

Anyways, here's this (or rather last) week's topic:

How Lolita has changed me

Well first: I now wear even less trousers than I did before. I have just gotten used to that girly feeling of wearing skirts and dresses.

Second: It has definitely changed my shopping behaviour. Especially in the beginning I started to only buy things that I could somehow include into my lolita wardrobe. This has changed meanwhile. Today I'm more focused on what I can wear to work. Sometimes that even goes along, but most times it doesn't and to be honest I really wish I had the money to go on a huge lolita shopping spree.
Ah well, we can't have everything...

Third: When I buy something I take more time to consider if it is really worth its price. Quality is a very important factor in this fashion and lolita has made me more aware that if you spend a lot of money on something, it shouldn't be poorly constructed or made of cheap materials.

Fourth: Lolita was one of the factors that made me start sewing (which sadly I hardly have the time for nowadays :( )

Fifth: I spend more time planning what I wear, how I accessorise it and I have become very critical when it comes to coordinating clothes.

I'm sure there are some more things, but these are the first ones that came to my mind. What about you (if you wear lolita at all), how has it changed you?
